Video Classics: 'Hot Blooded' - Foreigner
To honor WNEW's legendary Firecracker 500, every day we are highlighting the music that populated the 1991 and 1996 lists, with classic videos, live performances and little-known facts about the songs and how they came to be...
Winter is closing in, Halloween festivities are done, and the holiday season is still far-off. Gloomy? Stressful? Fear not, just psych yourself up with a little bit of Foreigner, performing their 1978 hit Hot-Blooded, still rocking strong 15 years after its release ...
Hot Blooded comes in at spot #263 on the 1991 Firecracker 500. It went to #3 on its initial release, pushing up sales of its parent album, Double Vision. Coming hot on the heels of the previous year's eponymous album, Double Vision contained not only Hot Blooded but also hits Blue Morning Blue Day and the title track.
The success of Double Vision (which went platinum) helped catapult the English/American band into the spotlight on the American rock scene, a success they would enjoy through the late 1980's. A version of the band still tours today, though only Mick Jones remains from among the original membership.
